You can’t force a flower
to forsake its bloom
can’t keep it locked away
in Mother Nature’s womb.
You must let it glow
in the morning sun
and marvel at its beauty
Long after it’s gone.

Modern Explorer

I’ve been to the top of the mountain
And looked down breathlessly
At the Earth’s mighty majesty.

I’ve licked my lips and hung my tongue
Between the two peaks of bountiful joy.
Glad in my total corporal amazement.

I’ve explored down deep in the valleys too
Where my legs held stiff and firm
Against the elements and the beginnings of life.

Through it all from beginning to end
I’ve held my arms wide open naked
Ready and willing to embrace nature.
Above and below belonging to it all.

And in my good fortune through all my travels
I have never been lost though often alone.
She’s my path, my pal and my way home.
She is my mother Earth.

She shines like a Star
She blooms like a flower
She wiped away my tears
But she herself never cried
She hides all her pain behind the mask called smile
The sky too bend for her love
The Mother earth feels blessed when she walks
I call her Mom because I was blessed in her womb.

Not your toy
I was not born to do service to your boy.
I’m a Woman
Both strong and sensitive
I’m not weak, that’s just your perspective.

Not a puppet
Don’t try to rule my life with your trumpet.

I bring life
Without me your son won’t have a wife.
I’m a Woman
Not an object
Don’t try to use me or treat me like a subject.

I like to dress
I was not born for you to undress.

Not a ball
If you kick me down, I will stand up tall.

Born to be a leader and a boss
I can lead your clan or bring it to a loss.

Not a trophy
I am not yours so don’t act like you own me;
Don’t ask for money and try to get me.

A woman more than that;
I can be a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife.
I take all these rolls, I’m like a dice.
Remember me? I created you and gave life.
