I Wish My Life Was Like A Poem #Poetry

2017-29-09-23-46-08

I wish my life was like a poem

then I would be beautiful.

I would have rhythm, cadence, imagery;

my rhymes they would be plentiful.

I would have stanzas of separation,

my life would be in order.

They would build upon each other

from beginning to end clear borders.

Someone would have infused emotion,

clear meaning to my words;

something mysteriously discernible

the lack of which does hurt.

Instead Im just a jumble of

unnecessary words and phrases.

No clear anything at all,

No future meaning to the ages.

  1. In searching for poetry
    Within our lives
    We learn to see
    Mess

    And make it
    Our story
    Of unruly stanzas
    Dragging on past our comfort
    No rhyme or reason

    Free

    Handed

    And full of purpose
    That makes no sense
    In the moment

    So we seek the people
    Who say

    Your poetry
    Has no rules

    Because you
    Were born

    To make your own.

  3. Poetry is life and life is poetry my friend. You say “I would have stanzas of separation,

my life would be in order.

They would build upon each other

from beginning to end –– clear borders.

Well this is not a guaranteed with a poem either. But no matter how ordered or chaotic, still poetry depicts life. Thanks for stopping by Poemattic.
